The Chi lab in the Department of Medicine, Division of Cardiovascular Medicine at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD), invites applications for a full-time postdoctoral position.

The overall goals of our research program are to gain insights into the underlying mechanisms of cardiovascular diseases as well as discover developmental pathways that help create the cardiovascular system (http://neilchilab.ucsd.edu). We are most interested in translating these findings for eventual cardiac therapies and early diagnostic tools, including cardiac regenerative cellular repair, gene replacement/editing therapies, and genetic/genomic testing. Towards this end, our laboratory uses a combination of patient derived human pluripotent stem cells and cardiac samples as well as various model organisms, such as mice and zebrafish, for our investigations.

The UC San Diego Cardiovascular Medicine Division is renowned for the success in training young investigators, as exemplified by the excellent training records of the faculty members. UC San Diego is a world-class research university. UC San Diego Health Sciences is a multi-billion dollar organization encompassing 20 academic departments, 3 professional schools (School of Medicine, Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Herbert Wertheim School of Public Health and Human Longevity Science) 2 hospital, and numerous programs dedicated toward fulfilling the Health Sciences education, research, and clinical missions.
