How will you contribute?

• Developing symbolic reasoning tools to represent and manage normative conflicts in financial regulatory contexts
• Designing formal models for normative reasoning and formal and computational argumentation
• Contributing to the integration of symbolic methods into a broader hybrid Artificial Intelligence (AI) architecture
• Advancing the SERAFIN project (Symbolic and Explainable Regulatory AI for Finance Innovation), which supports reasoning and explanation in complex financial regulatory environments
• Shaping cutting-edge research at the intersection of symbolic and hybrid AI, computational law, and financial compliance

Education

• A PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a closely related field is required.
• A background in legal or regulatory domains is highly desirable.

Experience and skills

• Preferably at least 3 years of research or industry experience in relevant areas.
• Proven expertise in AI and knowledge representation and reasoning (KRR), demonstrated by a strong publication record.
• Experience in formal and computational argumentation is a significant asset.
• Demonstrated ability to apply AI methods to domains such as law and finance.
• Experience in developing hybrid AI systems that integrate symbolic and sub-symbolic approaches.
• Track record of conducting application-driven AI research.

• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in interdisciplinary and multi-partner research environments

  
  

Language skills

• Fluency in English and French, both oral and written. Other relevant languages are considered to be an asset.
