By order issued by the Director General of the Telecommunications Institute on January 7, 2026, it was approved to open an international call to select one candidate researcher in the scientific scope of the project 6G-MUSICAL, under the scope of a term contract, with a termination date undetermined, overseen by Portuguese Labour Code. Job description:

• • Contribution in WP3 Task 3.3 aiming to define compressed sensing algorithm for sensing.
• • Leadership in task involving waveform design and cooperative algorithms. These will include 1) high resolution algorithms 2) distributed sensing compression at the nodes; 3) joint processing of the compressed data at a fusion center.
• • The work will also include participation in WP6 through the integration of selected algorithms in one testbed.
• • As part of these activities it is expected that the researcher co-supervises MSc and PhD students as well as participate in the writing of novel research proposals.

About the position

The work will take place within the framework of the EU project 6G-MUSICAL which addresses a new paradigm in radio technologies that includes the merging of radar and communications to enable 6G devices with a built-in sensing component based on radar technology to detect, track and reconstruct 3D objects.

• • Decree-Law no. 57/2016 of 29th of August, which approved the hiring of doctorate to stimulate scientific and technological employment for all areas of knowledge (RJEC), amended by the Law 57/2017 dated 19th of July, and regulated by Regulatory Decree nr 11-A/2017, dated 29th December
• • Labour Code approved by Law no. 7/2009 of 12 February, under its current Reading.

The workplace shall be at Instituto de Telecomunicações, Polo de Aveiro, Campus Universitário de Santiago, 3810-193 Aveiro.
