A call for applications is now open for the attribution of 1 research grant for graduates with master’s degree within the scope of the project “IBEROSmais – Instituto de Biofabricación en red para el Envejecimiento Saludable”, reference 0072_IBEROS_MAIS_1_E, co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (EFDR), within the scope of the Cooperation Programme Interreg VI A España – Portugal (POCTEP) 2021-2027, under the following conditions:

Scientific Area: Medical Biotechnology

Recipient category: Masters who, on the date of their hiring, prove their enrollment in a non-academic degree course. Non-conferring degrees courses: They may also be intended for I&D activities by graduates or masters enrolled in non-academic degree courses.

Skills/Qualifications

Workplan and objectives to be achieved:

The work plan for the grant will focus in supporting research activities on biofabrication using natural origin materials for the development of biomedical applications. Specifically:

• • Processing and characterization of marine origin materials;
• • Production of biomaterials for application in tissue engineering and/or other advanced therapies;
• • Participation in the elaboration of technical-scientific reports and scientific communication instruments.

With the execution of the work plan, the fellowship holder should acquire skills in the development of biomaterials and in tissue engineering, as well as in the sustainable use of natural resources, particularly of marine origin, aligned with the concepts of circular economy and green chemistry.

Fellowship duration: The grant will take place for a period of 3 months, with a provisional starting date on April 2026.. The fellowship grant may eventually be renewed up to the maximum limit allowed by the regulations and for the duration of the project.

(Research fellowships for graduates or masters enrolled in courses that do not award an academic degree can be renewed for additional periods until they reach 1 year; if the fellowship holder had previously benefited of a similar fellowship, the total duration of the fellowships cannot exceed an accumulated period of 2 years, consecutive or interpolated.)
