Summary: There is an open call for one (1) Post-Doctoral Research Grant (“Bolsa de Pós-Doutoramento”) at Instituto de Telecomunicações, in the scope of project COOLBRAIN.This project is funded by European Union Project: 101223253 — COOLBRAIN HORIZON-EIC-2024-PATHFINDERCHALLENGES-04 (CA TRT/DJC/2025.73).

Work Objectives: The goal is to investigate super-Planckian radiative heat transfer phenomena in nanostructured media and metamaterials. Build models of nanostructured radiative heat emitters and receivers. Perform full-wave simulations and characterize the relevant metamaterial structures. Extend existing analytical tools and numerical models. Prepare and publish scientific articles and reports and co-supervise undergraduate and graduate students involved in the same project.

Place of work: The work will be developed at the premises of Instituto de Telecomunicações at University of Aveiro, under the supervision of Prof. Joana Catarina Martins Mendes.

Duration: 12 months,with the possibility of renewal. This type of scholarship has a maximum duration of 3 years. Start date: April 2026 or soon thereafter.
