The Institute of Philosophy is seeking to appoint four Postdoctoral Researchers in philosophy for a fixed-term period of two years.

These positions are advertised within the framework of the Institute of Philosophy’s participation in the Croatian Science Foundation’s Postdoctoral Research Projects call (PDIP-2026). The appointment of candidates will depend on the outcome of the evaluation of project proposals conducted by the Croatian Science Foundation.

Applicants for the position must meet the general conditions prescribed by the Act on Higher Education and Scientific Activity (NN 119/22), as well as the additional criteria for selection to junior research and professional positions set out in the Regulation on Additional Criteria for Appointment to Junior Research and Professional Positions at the Institute of Philosophy, published on the Institute’s website

In accordance with the conditions of the PDIP-2026 call, applicants must:

• • hold a PhD degree obtained no more than five years prior to the PDIP-2026 application deadline (6 May 2026), with the possibility of extending this period in accordance with the rules of the Croatian Science Foundation call
• • have an ORCID identifier
• • submit a postdoctoral research project proposal and an accompanying financial plan to be applied for under the PDIP-2026 call.

The written application must include the following documents:

• • a curriculum vitae describing the applicant’s previous scientific work
• • a list of published scientific, professional, and popular publications
• • proof of the PhD degree obtained
• • a motivation letter indicating the department of the Institute to which the applicant is applying
• • one scientific paper, published or accepted for publication
• • the application form and financial plan for the proposed two-year research project intended for submission to the PDIP-2026 call.

Applicants shortlisted for the position will be invited to an interview with the evaluation committee. Shortlisted applicants will also be required to give a 30-minute presentation before the Scientific Council of the Institute of Philosophy on a topic related to their proposed research project.

Applicants who receive a positive evaluation from the committee will be invited to submit their project proposal to the PDIP-2026 call of the Croatian Science Foundation. Final employment will be possible only for applicants whose project proposals are positively evaluated and funded within the PDIP-2026 call.
