Postdoctoral position available in an NCN-funded project. We are seeking a talented and motivated scientist eager to engage in research on the biological activity of polymeric materials.

The ideal candidate should have experience in the synthesis and characterization of polymeric materials, particularly in controlled ring-opening polymerization (ROP) and ionic polymerization techniques, and/or experience in studying the biological and biophysical properties of polymers. Particular interest will be given to candidates with expertise in polymer interactions with lipid bilayers, the use of polymers for gene transfection, and the application of polymers in API delivery systems.

Experience in the synthesis and characterization of polymeric materials, especially in controlled ring-opening polymerization (ROP) and ionic polymerization techniques, and/or experience in investigating the biological and biophysical properties of polymers, with a particular focus on polymer interactions with lipid bilayers, the use of polymers for gene transfection, and application of polymers in the delivery of API.

1. 1.  A PhD degree in chemical sciences, biotechnology, or a related field, awarded no earlier than January 1, 2014 (*)(**). 
2. 2. The PhD degree must have been obtained at an institution other than Warsaw University of Technology, or the candidate must have completed at least a 10-month continuous and documented postdoctoral fellowship at an institution other than Warsaw University of Technology and in a country different from the country where the PhD degree was obtained. 
3. 3. Experience in the synthesis and characterization of polymeric materials, especially in controlled ring-opening polymerization (ROP) and ionic polymerization techniques, and/or experience in investigating the biological and biophysical properties of polymers, with a particular focus on polymer interactions with lipid bilayers, the use of polymers for gene transfection, and application of polymers in the delivery of API.
4. 4. Documented scientific achievements demonstrated by scientific publications in journals listed in the JCR database.
5. 5. Fluent English, both spoken and written. 
6. 6. Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team. 
7. 7. Ability to think analytically and solve problems independently. 

(*) In the case of individuals who have obtained more than one PhD degree, the reference date is the date of the first degree awarded.

(**) This period may be extended following the rules set out in the Regulations for awarding funds for tasks financed by National Science Centre within the framework of research projects.
