Applications are open for 1 Scientific Initiation Studentship, within the framework of project/R&D institution 1801P.01577 COASTLIFE, (2023.16028.ICDT), financed by national funds through FCT/MCTES

Workplan: The workplan includes the following tasks:

• review of relevant literature and previous studies on wave overtopping, coastal defence structures, numerical modelling and stepped revetments;
• development of pre- and post-processing scripts to analyse numerical modelling simulations;
• implementation of a phase-resolving wave model to simulate wave propagation and wave overtopping of coastal revetments;
• calibration of a phase-resolving wave model against existent physical modelling experiments;
• writing of the technical report.

Duration: The research fellowship will have the duration of 6 months. It is expected to begin in September 2026. This research fellowship may be renewed for up to a maximum of 12 months.

It is mandatory to formalize applications with the submission of the following documents: i) B1 Form – Fellowship application (https://ist-id.pt/recursos-humanos/bolseiros/#documentos-relacionados); ii) Curriculum Vitae; iii) academic degree certificate, where applicable; iv) proof of enrollment at an academic degree course or at a course that does not award an academic degree; v) motivation letter; vi) declaration on honour that the applicant does not exceed with this contract, including the possible renovations, an accumulated period of one year in this type of studentship, continuously or with interruptions, and has not held any other fellowship directly or indirectly funded by FCT.
