1. A call is open for a selection procedure on the basis of candidates’ qualifications, integrated by a possible interview, for the assignment of one “PostDoctoral Research Grant” of the duration of one year, with a possible extension, entitled: ”Activity of research andduration of one year, with a possible extension, entitled: ”Activity of research and development of HPC software within the European “SPACE” Center of Excellence” 

2. This selection based on qualifications and possible interview is aimed at the acquisition of one personnel unit qualified in the development and structural evolution of the OpenGadget code for cosmological simulations within the activities foreseen by the SPACE project. The activity will be focussed on the optimization of the code for increasing both the efficiency on the single-core and the scalability on several cores with the aim of making it an exa-scale ready code. The specific activities will include the restructuring of data layout and of loops with the aim of increasing vectorization, the refining of the multi-threading parallelism by use of OpenMP, the application of advanced technologies for one-sided communication in MPI and offloading on GPU.

3.The research activities envisaged for the grant will be carried out at the INAF-OATs, under the scientific supervision of Dr. Luca Tornatore.

4. The fellowship is aimed at this specific research project, and is not announced to program long-term recruitment either for the Institute or for the project itself, but to offer the opportunity to carry out research activities in the framework of the project to candidates who deem it useful to their professional growth.

5. We specify that the aim of this selection procedure is to:
- offer the opportunity of professional development to young candidates holding research master degrees, to research fellows and to fixed-term contract staff who wish to engage in the national and international research environment, with a view to turnover and mobility, which means recruitment of specific professional skills within fixed-term projects and/or
activities;
- to appoint in this way positions which are external to the recruitment of permanent staff positions and therefore do not represent any binding prerequisite for access to permanent staff positions of the Institute.
