CITY FOCUS is an innovative multidisciplinary initiative designed to address the pressing challenges of urbanization and sustainability through resilience-oriented approaches and advanced data-driven solutions. By integrating innovative analytics, evidence-based methods, and a strong emphasis on collaboration, the project aims to create transformative impacts in urban systems.

CITY FOCUS is currently seeking enthusiastic young researchers with strong analytical skills, particularly in advanced methods such as spatial analytics, text mining, and natural language processing. Candidates with a passion for sustainability, urban resilience, and interdisciplinary collaboration are encouraged to apply.

The project offers a dynamic and international research environment, emphasizing inclusivity and co-creation through the Quadruple Helix Model, which engages stakeholders from the public sector, civil society, academia, and industry. The University's minimum standards by subject area, in accordance with the model in Annex 2c, for fixed-term research posts in the University's faculties. The University's standards shall be at least equal to the national minimum standards approved under Art. 156 para. (1) letter a) and para. (2) of the Law on Higher Education No. 199/2023, as amended. The check sheets in Annex 2c are completed and signed by the candidate with the following specific requirements:

For 2 positions of Post-doctoral Researcher, core area Mathematics and Natural Sciences (2 positions of 3 hours/day)

a) a doctorate in Mathematics and Natural Sciences;

b) maximum 8 years after the award of the diploma at the time of the competition;

Specific scientific research activities for the project:

• Competence in using spatial analysis techniques;
• Specific research skills with Geographic Information Systems (GIS);
• Creation of maps at the European and national levels;
• Competence in developing online dashboards;
• Competence in territorial analysis;
• Competence in analyzing inequalities;
• Case studies on regions;
• Sustainable development;
• Data analysis;
• Publishing at least one Web of Science (Q1/Q2) paper and one BDI paper;
• Reporting research results;
• Participation in scientific events.
