One postdoc position is open at Aix-Marseille University to detect and study fast radio bursts (FRBs). The position is part of FLAME, a project to detect gravitationally lensed FRBs founded by the French government as part of the Initiative d'Excellence d'Aix-Marseille Université

Project

The main goal of the project is commissioning the CHORD telescope, a next-generation radio telescope currently under construction. Depending on the candidate's interests, the focus could revolve around developing software for detecting FRBs, analyzing their voltage data, and localizing FRBs starting with the CHIME/Outrigger project. About half of the time will be available to the postdoc to develop independent studies, leading projects within the CHIME/FRB and CHORD experiments or exploring different areas of research

Candidate requirements

• A PhD degree obtained less than two years from the start of the position
• Proficiency in English (French not required)

We welcome candidates from all backgrounds. While previous experience in the field is a plus, enthusiastic candidates from adjacent areas are encouraged to apply
