Skills/Qualifications

Academic degree of Doctor of Science in a relevant research field. Experience in scientific research, including writing scientific articles and conference presentations. Fluent in English, both spoken and written.

Specific Requirements

Preference will be given to candidates with strong interdisciplinary research skills to study different environmental components, especially with experience in methods to assess the ecotoxicological effects of atmospheric particulate matter on various levels of biological organization in aquatic environments.


The postdoctoral fellow associated with the Croatian Science Foundation (CSF) project „A burning issue of air pollution in the Adriatic coastal zone: insights into the ageing of aerosol properties and impacts on human and environmental health (ADRIAirBURN)“. The ADRIAirBURN aims to enhance fundamental scientific knowledge on complex physico-chemical properties of biomass burning aerosols (BBA), with a focus on their organic fraction, and how their aging in the atmosphere affects air quality, human health and marine environment in coastal zones. The postdoctoral candidate will be enrolled in studies related to the BBA toxicological cellular and acellular studies using both model systems and real samples.
