Skills/Qualifications

Academic degree of Doctor of Science in a relevant research field. Experience in scientific research, including writing scientific articles and conference presentations. Fluent in English, both spoken and written.

Specific Requirements

Preference will be given to candidates with hands-on experience in standard microbiological and molecular biology techniques, proficiency in bioinformatics tools for bacterial genome assembly and analysis, and practical knowledge of the R programming language.


The postdoctoral fellow will be engaged in the Croatian Science Foundation (CSF) project "Antimicrobial Resistance Surveillance via Analyses of Groundwaters (ARES)." The ARES project aims to investigate the resistome, microbiome, and mobilome of five karst groundwater sources used for public water supply in Croatia, employing both culture-dependent and culture-independent approaches, including qPCR, 16S rRNA amplicon sequencing, and whole-genome sequencing.
