• The selected postdoc will join and strengthen the existing high-quality research team at the Institute of Structural Mechanics of the Faculty of Civil Engineering at Brno University of Technology, in ERC Synergy project ID 101167045 Concrete matrices for high-cycle-fatigue resistant, eco-efficient infrastructure (FATRESCON)

The main tasks will include involvement in R&D activities of the expert team under the supervision of Prof. Miroslav Vořechovský, fulfilling the planned R&D agenda, and participating in the coordination of research conducted by local PhD students in the research group.

• The postdoc is expected to publish research results in prestigious international peer-reviewed journals. The position also includes research visits to collaborating ERC project institutions in Germany and Austria, participation in international conferences, and sharing of acquired knowledge via workshops with other researchers and students

Specific Requirements

• A completed PhD program at a university in the Czech Republic or a recognized equivalent foreign doctoral degree under Czech Act No. 111/1998 Coll. on Higher Education Institutions, with the date of PhD completion on or after May 31, 2020 in one of the following fields: civil engineering, physics, applied mathematics, or computer and data sciences.

• Proficiency in English (CAE or equivalent)

• Experience in research in computational mechanics, nonlinear mechanics, statistics, and data science

• Programming experience in compiled languages (C, C++), as well as scripting languages in Python and MATLAB environments
