The Black hOle Optical-polarization TimE-domain Survey (BOOTES) aims to study the polarized light coming from supermassive black holes and understand the processes of accretion disk and jet formation. Specifically, it aims to study and intranight polarization variability from blazars, and the optical polarization signatures from tidal disruption events (TDE). BOOTES will be generating a large amount of polarimetric data that would require a significant analysis infrastructure. Within the framework of BOOTES, the postdoctoral researcher will be working on the acquisition, and data analysis of optical polarization observations at the Skinakas observatory for both blazars and TDEs. They will also be developing the necessary pipelines for the telescope control, as well as automization of the observations and data reduction in order to migrate the existing polarimeter to a new 1-m telescope at the Skinakas Observatory.
