Job Duties:

• Independent research and active participation in cooperative research projects of the institute, in particular, in the development, evaluation, and practical application of machine learning methods (especially deep learning).
• Publication of scientific results in renowned international journals and conferences
• Supervision of students in seminars and projects; co-supervision of bachelor and master theses
• Participation in teaching of the institute’s courses and administrative tasks

Your Qualifications:

• The successful candidate must hold a Ph.D. degree and publication record in machine learning methods and/or their applications; several publications at top machine learning conferences, such as NeurIPS, ICML, and ICLR
• Theory and practice of machine learning, e.g. Deep Learning and neural networks, Reinforcement learning, and Probabilistic modeling
• Excellent skills in Python programming
• Full command of English (English level B2), German language skills not required
• Willingness and ability to work in a team and to support young colleagues
