About the position

A research position for one Research Grant (“Bolsa de Investigação“) is open at Instituto de Telecomunicações, in the scope of the Project UTTER project – Unified Transcription and Translation for Extended Reality – GA 101070631 (HORIZON-CL4-2021-HUMAN-01-13 topic) funded by the applicable financial framework - Horizon Europe; and in the scope of the DECOLLAGE project – DEep COgnition Learning for LAnguage Generation, supported by the European Research Council - ERC COG 101088763.

The work for this position is in the area of Natural Language Processing and Machine Learning.

The overarching goal of UTTER is to extend the state-of-the-art in machine translation and summarization towards two use cases: virtual assistant for online meetings and multilingual customer service dialogue tool. The main goal of DECOLLAGE is to develop new models, methods, and algorithms for language generation with higher-order cognition capabilities.
