Postdoctoral Researcher (m/f, 1 position). Fixed-term appointment (7 months) within the scientific project "Light-Matter Interaction in Atomically Thin Structures at the Nanoscale" (Croatian Science Foundation, IP-2022-10-4724) at the Institute of Physics, Zagreb, Croatia, within research group SIMAT – Surfaces, Interfaces, and 2D Materials.

The appointed researcher will join the project team and contribute to characterization of electronic and optical properties of 2D systems at the nanoscale, analysis of the transient dynamics of collective excitations in such systems, data processing and interpretation, preparation of scientific publications and participation in the dissemination of project results.

Required Qualifications: completed PhD in natural sciences, field of physics, with a focus on condensed matter physics.

Candidate Profile: the ideal candidate will be highly motivated for experimental laboratory work in the outlined research areas and will demonstrate proficiency in English, both written and spoken. Preference will be given to candidates who can demonstrate excellence and independence in prior research work (e.g. awards, scholarships, publications, conference presentations), and those with practical experience in advanced spectroscopic techniques such as: scanning probe microscopy (SPM), scattering-type scanning near-field optical microscopy (s-SNOM), pump-probe spectroscopy techniques under various experimental conditions (ultra-high vacuum, cryogenic temperatures, and ambient environments).

Preference will also be given for experience in fabrication and/or synthesis of 2D heterostructures.
