The Institute of Psychology and Behavior in Crisis-Lab at the Jagiellonian University in Kraków invites applications for a full-time, fixed-term (48 months) Postdoctoral Researcher position in social and behavioral psychology. The selected candidate will join a large-scale international research project titled “Motivational Readiness in the Face of Crises: Strengthening Global Public Engagement” (National Science Center, OPUS grant no. 2024/55/B/HS6/01941).

This interdisciplinary project, spanning over 60 countries, investigates psychological drivers of public engagement with global crises such as climate change, pandemics, and political instability. Using Motivational Readiness Theory, the project explores how people’s perceptions of crises influence their motivation to act, and it tests behavioral interventions to enhance public engagement.

The successful candidate will play a central role in managing and implementing all project phases—from survey coordination and experimental research to advanced data analysis and dissemination. This includes contributing to peer-reviewed publications, overseeing global collaborations, and supporting the development of an agent-based simulation model for crisis engagement.
