Candidates for the competition must meet the requirements specified in Article 113 of the Act of July 20, 2018, Law on Higher Education and Science (consolidated text: Journal of Laws of 2024, item 1571, as amended) and the following qualification criteria:

• hold a doctoral degree (PhD) in biological sciences in the field of biotechnology (industrial biotechnology), or in the field of engineering and technical sciences, discipline: environmental engineering, mining, and energy,

• within the 5 years preceding the application submission, have obtained at least 600 points for publications in journals included in the ministerial list with an impact factor (IF), including at least 300 points as the first author,

• as of the date of application, act as a principal investigator of one research project or as a researcher in at least two research projects.

Additionally, candidates should demonstrate:

• A good command of English and fluency in Polish, both spoken and written (applies to foreign candidates).

• A significant scientific output, including at least five publications in Q1-ranked journals.

• Research experience related to aerobic and anaerobic wastewater treatment technologies for various wastewater characteristics, microalgae cultivation aimed at bioenergy applications, and molecular biology methods, documented through publications in JCR-listed journals.

• Proficiency in statistical data analysis tools (Statistica, GraphPad, R).
