This ERRATUM serves to provide the complete identification of the funding source of the Project whose call for applications took place from April 15 to 30, 2025, under the reference SMAIS_POSTDOC_1.4.25.

Call is open for the award of 1 (one) Post-Doc Research Fellowship (BIPD) at UNINOVA - Institute for the Development of New Technologies within the scope of the SMAIS: Artificial Intelligence for Municipal Water and Sanitation Services (2024.07381.IACDC), supported by the measure “RE-C05-i08.m04 – Support for the launch of a programme of R&D projects aimed at the development and implementation of advanced systems of cybersecurity, artificial intelligence and data science in public administration, as well as a scientific capacity-building programme,” under the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR), within the scope of the funding agreement entered into between the Mission Structure Recuperar Portugal (EMRP) and the Foundation for Science and Technology, I.P. (FCT), as an intermediate beneficiary, for the development of R&D activities to be carried out by PhD researchers, under the following conditions:

Recipient admission requirements /Profile:

1. PhD in areas related to Earth Sciences Engineering, finished less than 3 (three) years ago (mandatory).
2. Not exceed, with the conclusion of the scholarship contract in question, including possible renewals, an accumulated period of 3 (three) years in this type of scholarship, consecutive or interpolated.
3. Proven knowledge in:
   1. Data Science (Python)
   2. Machine Learning (Python)
   3. Remote Sensing
   4. Internet of Things (Hardware, Node-red, JavaScript)
   5. Satellite Image Processing
   6. R&D and scientific dissemination
4. Experienced in Portuguese/European research projects, minimum 3 years (Mandatory).
5. Experience in Portuguese /European project management (Preferential).
6. Experience in organizing meetings and conferences of Portuguese/European projects (Mandatory).
7. Residence in the Metropolitan Area of Lisbon. (Preferential)
8. Fluent in English and Portuguese, written and spoken (Mandatory).
9. Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Candidates who have obtained the degree abroad must have the degree recognized in Portugal, pursuant to Decree-Law No. 66/2018 of August 16th.

Work plan: The candidate will develop research work performing the following tasks with the following objectives:

• Requirements Engineering and Assessment of Stakeholders’ Needs (Task 1)

• Data Analysis and development of machine learning models for optimized water management in the Almada Municipality (Task 3 and Task 4).

• Support end-user training activities (Task 6)

• Support public and academic dissemination activities (Task 7)

Applicable legislation and regulations: Statute of the Scientific Research Grantee, approved by Law No. 40/2004 of August 18, amended and republished by Decree-Law No. 202/2012, of August 27 and amended by Decree-Law No. 233/2012 of 29 October, Law No. 12/2013 of January 29 and Decree-Law No. 123/2019 of August 28.

It is subsidiarily applicable the Regulation of UNINOVA Research Grants, approved by deliberation of the Board of Directors of the FCT- Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia, in the meeting of March 2 of 2022.

Duration of the grant: The grant will have the expected duration of 8 (eight) months, until 31/12/2025, possibly renewable within the duration of the project, provided that it does not exceed the period referred to in point (b) of the admission requirements and is scheduled to start in May 2025.
