At the Faculty of Psychology, the University of Vienna seeks to appoint a

Professor for Psychotherapy (according to § 99 (1) UG)

(full time employment, fixed term: from 1 February 2026 to 31 January 2028)

The position:

The main tasks of the professorship include teaching and research in the field of psychotherapy. Applicants are expected to have a proven track record of publications in reputable journals in this field. Applicants should also have experience in teaching psychotherapy. Substantial involvement in and collaboration on the development and implementation of the new psychotherapy program at the University of Vienna are part of the professorship's area of responsibility.

The professorship represents the subject area in research and teaching. The teaching load comprises 8 semester hours per week in bachelor's, master's, and doctoral programs.

Your academic profile:

• Doctoral degree/PhD
• Outstanding research achievements, excellent publication and funding record, international reputation (in relation to academic age)
• Proven leadership qualities
• Gender and diversity competence
• Experience in designing and managing large research projects
• Enthusiasm for excellent teaching and supervision at the bachelor's, master's, and doctoral level
• Willingness to take on organisational and administrative responsibilities within the Faculty and the University
• Completed psychotherapeutic training in an evidence-based therapy approach (preferably in behavioral therapy or systemic therapy; if not in Austria: with formal recognition in Austria)
