Based on the Decision on the announcement of a public competition for employment for the vacant associate position of senior assistant (CLASS: 602-01/26-01/05, REGISTRATION NUMBER: 2170-1-38-05-26-2), dated March 4, 2026, the Faculty of Teacher Education in Rijeka announces

COMPETITION

for the selection for the associate position of senior assistant in the scientific field of social sciences, scientific field of pedagogy, full-time and for a fixed term - 1 executive.

Candidates must meet the requirements prescribed by the Act on Higher Education and Scientific Activity ("Official Gazette", No. 119/22), of which they must submit evidence.

Mandatory condition for employment: acquired academic degree of Doctor of Science in the scientific field of social sciences, scientific field of pedagogy.

Advantage: previous research-scientific, teaching and professional activity in the field of music education in early and preschool education.

Candidates must submit the following documentation: a signed application for the competition with the specified personal data (name and surname, address of residence, telephone number and e-mail address), CV, motivation letter, evidence of meeting the requirements prescribed by the Higher Education and Scientific Activity Act (proof of the acquired appropriate professional qualifications, i.e. the acquired academic title and degree of Doctor of Science in the scientific field of social sciences, the scientific field of pedagogy and a supplementary document on the subject study, if the candidate possesses one), a description of previous scientific, teaching and professional activities, a list of published works, works and other evidence, proof of citizenship and a certificate of data recorded in the registry of the Croatian Pension Insurance Institute (electronic record of employment status, i.e. e-workbook) not older than one month from the date of publication of the competition.

Candidates must attach documentation in electronic form in PDF format to the application for the competition.

Candidates who have acquired a foreign higher education qualification must attach a decision on the recognition of the foreign higher education qualification. Candidates who are foreign citizens must provide proof of knowledge of the Croatian language (and the Latin script), in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages ​​(advanced knowledge - C2). The verification of knowledge according to the required level may exceptionally be carried out orally and/or in writing, if the candidate does not have written proof of knowledge of the Croatian language.

All documents submitted by candidates must either be issued in the Croatian language or must be accompanied by a publicly certified translation into the Croatian language.

If the candidate submits documents with their application in which personal data are not identical, they must also submit proof of their change (e.g. marriage certificate, birth certificate, etc.). The selected candidate is obliged to provide the originals of the submitted documents in the application before concluding an employment contract.

Candidates who exercise the right to priority in employment under a special law are obliged to refer to this right in their application for the competition and to attach (along with the remaining documentation required by the competition) all evidence specified by special regulations for exercising this right, and they have priority over other candidates only under equal conditions.

A candidate who invokes the right of priority in employment pursuant to Article 9 of the Act on Professional Rehabilitation and Employment of Persons with Disabilities ("Official Gazette", No. 157/13, 152/14, 39/18 and 32/20), is obliged to submit all prescribed documentation, i.e. evidence of meeting the required conditions, as well as proof of disability, with the application for the competition.

A candidate who invokes the right to priority in employment pursuant to Article 48 of the Act on Civilian Victims of the Homeland War ("Official Gazette", No. 84/21), is obliged to submit all prescribed documentation, or evidence of meeting the required conditions, in accordance with Article 49 of the cited Act, along with the application for the vacancy. A candidate who invokes the right to priority in employment in accordance with Article 48.f of the Act on the Protection of Military and Civilian War Invalids (Official Gazette, No. 33/92, 57/92, 77/92, 27/93, 58/93, 2/94, 76/94, 108/95, 108/96, 82/01, 103/03, 148/13 and 98/19), in addition to proof of meeting the required conditions, the applicant must also submit a decision or certificate showing the aforementioned right and proof of how the employment relationship ended.

By submitting an application for the competition, candidates expressly agree that the Faculty of Teacher Education in Rijeka, as the controller of the personal data file, may collect, use and further process data for the purpose of conducting the competition procedure, in accordance with the provisions of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2018 on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data and the Act on the Implementation of the General Data Protection Regulation (Official Gazette, No. 42/18), and it is considered that the application and attached documents were submitted of the candidate's free will.

Applications for the competition with evidence of meeting the requirements are submitted in electronic form, via e-mail, to the address: izbori@ufri.uniri.hr, within 30 (thirty) days from the date of publication of the competition in the Official Gazette, with the indication "application for the competition for a senior assistant".

For candidates who meet the formal requirements of the competition, the Faculty of Teacher Education in Rijeka reserves the right to conduct a test and/or interview to verify the motivation, knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the duties of the position. Candidates will be notified in a timely manner about the testing and/or interview. If a candidate does not take the test and/or interview, he/she is considered to have withdrawn his/her application.

The Faculty of Teacher Education in Rijeka reserves the right not to select any candidate, or to cancel this competition.

Incomplete and untimely applications will not be considered.

The Faculty of Teacher Education in Rijeka will publish information about the outcome of the competition on its website, and candidates will also be informed about the results of the competition by e-mail, to the address they used to submit their application for the competition.

The competition is open to persons of both sexes under equal conditions. The terms used in this competition that have a gender meaning are used neutrally and refer equally to both sexes.
