Skills/Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates who:

• • have an outstanding academic record in the analysis of the justice system, criminology, and law, including authorship or scientific editing of at least one monograph listed on the Level II list of the Minister of Science and Higher Education,
• • are fluent in English at a level that allows them to use foreign literature, publish, and participate in public speaking; documented knowledge of other languages will be an additional asset,
• • have experience in leading research projects funded through grant competitions organized by national institutions other than their current employer (NCN, NCBiR, NAWA) or international institutions (Horizon, ERC),
• • have experience in research internships at renowned foreign scientific research centers,
• • have experience in organizing scientific conferences and actively participating in them,
• • possess knowledge of research methods and techniques and documented ability to apply them in practice,
• • have experience in developing research tools for quantitative and qualitative research methods,
• • are proficient in software for quantitative and qualitative data analysis, including, among others, SPSS, MAXQDA, or equivalent,
• • can guarantee timely completion of research work within the Institute and have the time necessary to perform additional organizational functions at IWS.

Specific Requirements

The competition is open to candidates who satisfy the following eligibility criteria:

• • have the title of professor of social sciences in the discipline of legal sciences obtained in the Republic of Poland;
• • have a fluent command of Polish, written and spoken;
• • have a fluent command of English, written and spoken;
• • have not been convicted by a final court judgment for an intentional offence;
• • be able to fully exercise civil and citizen’s rights.

Eligibility criteria

Candidates must deliver the following documents:

• • a copy of the act awarding the title of professor;
• • the completed form of “Application for the post of an professor at the Section off Analyses of the Justice System”, (the form can be downloaded from www.iws.gov.pl). The form must include the following statements:
  - the statement that the candidate has no civil record of convictions for intentional offences;
  - the statement that the candidate has not violated academic ethics, in particular in the matters described in Article 56 (3) of the Research Institutes Act of 30 April 2010;
  - the statement that the candidate is able to fully exercise civil and citizen’s rights;
  - consent to the processing of the candidate’s personal data included in the application for the purposes of the competition.
