The researcher will have to carry out theoretical and computational studies aimed at identifying how cells represent their environment in their molecular networks. The work will use tools from dynamical systems (deterministic and stochastic) and information theory. The bulk of the tasks will be dedicated to the study of bacterial cells, but it may also include the analysis of other organisms, such as ciliates and mammalian cells, in collaboration with the other groups participating in the project. Likewise, the researcher could also supervise doctoral, master's and undergraduate students in the scope of the project.


They will collaborate in teaching tasks up to a maximum of 60 hours per academic year.


Specific Requirements • PhD in Physics, Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, or equivalent. • Knowledge of biophysics, statistical physics, machine learning, and nonlinear physics. • Experience with complex data analysis techniques, particularly time series. • Experience in inference and information theory.


Benefits

Contract remuneration: According to salary tables (currently 42,392.88 gross per year).

Eligibility criteria

1. Academic background: 0-20 points.

2. Professional experience/Adaptation to the proposed profile: 0-60 points.

3. Other merits: 0-20 points.

The minimum score to pass the selection process is: 80.
