Medical University of Gdansk is looking for a candidate for the position of:

Assistant - Assistant Professor (project role - “Post-doc”) in the Department of Translational Oncology (f/m)

The selected candidate will participate in a research project funded by the National Science Centre (NCN) as part of the SONATA 20 competition, project no. 2024/55/D/NZ5/03003, entitled “A gene with many faces – a model of severe congenital neutropenia in patient-derived iPS cells to elucidate the role of CLPB mutations in granulopoiesis and clonal evolution,” led by Dr. Joanna Madzio.

THE TASKS OF A PERSON EMPLOYED AT THIS POSITION WILL INCLUDE:

• • planning experiments, documenting work progress, preparing reports, writing publications,
• • implementing functional tests: ATPase, refolding,
• • culturing iPSC cells and editing genes using the prime editing system,
• • phenotypic analysis of cells using flow cytometry,
• • analysis of edited cells for clonal expansion (CFU) and differentiation phenotypes (FC),
• • collaboration with the bioinformatics team in the preparation of samples for transcriptomic analysis and the integration of molecular and functional results.

CANDIDATES ARE REQUIRED TO:

• • PhD in biological sciences, biomedical sciences, or equivalent,
• • professional experience in cell culture, flow cytometry, and genetic engineering,
• • ability to document data, compile results, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.

A post-doc position is a full-time position intended for a person who obtained their doctoral degree no earlier than 12 years prior to the year of employment in the project. This period may be extended in accordance with the SONATA 20 competition documentation. Employment in accordance with additional program requirements.
