Workplan: Plasma-Based Accelerators are studied as a promising source of high-energy electron beams which are either quasi-monoenergetic or have high total charge. Multi-petawatt facilities enable acceleration of hundreds of nC to energies of several GeV. The effects of laser pulse duration will enable different spatial energy distribution which will likely affect the quality of produced charged beams. The student will perform simulations for various plasma densities, and study the interplay between two mechanisms: DLA and LWFA which can accelerate electrons simultaneously. This work aims to demonstrate the importance of laser pulse duration for controlling the acceleration process in modern advanced laser-driven electron sources. Duration: The research fellowship(s) will have the duration of 6 months. It’s expected to begin in 2026, and may be eventually renewed up to the maximum allowed by the FCT regulation
