As part of the European PROSECCO project, the researcher will join the laboratory's experimental platforms to conduct advanced research on energy transmission network protection, communication latencies, and Power Hardware In the Loop (PHIL) experiments. The laboratory is equipped with a comprehensive environment for studying issues related to microgrids and smart grids. Virtualization of protection functions in the Seapath (RTE) environment developed in Mamadou GOUNDIAM's thesis (RTE thesis) with possible improvements Testing of virtualized protection relays to protect the export lines of High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) connections


Attention will be focused on the performance of algorithms developed specifically to interact with the control system of the conversion station. Communication latencies will be studied in particular: design and implementation of communication scenarios between a virtualized protection relay in the Seapath environment developed by RTE and the control system of HVDC links, taking into account environmental conditions and specific configurations. The objective will be to analyze performance in these situations in detail and propose optimization measures. The system will be synchronized by GPS and real-time clock with dedicated equipment.
