Job Summary/offer: We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher for a short-term (~6 weeks) position focused on the quantitative analysis of existing multi-camera 3D video recordings of courtship displays of golden-collared manakins (Manacus vitellinus) and the preparation of a manuscript for submission.


The project centres on extracting and statistically analysing fine-scale kinematic and behavioural parameters from an established dataset to address questions related to sexual selection and display performance.

  • • Analyse pre-collected 3D video datasets of courtship displays
  • • Extract and quantify kinematic and behavioural metrics using established workflows
  • • Conduct statistical analyses in R
  • • Lead the drafting, revision, and finalization of a manuscript for submission within the 6-week timeframe
  • • Coordinate efficiently with collaborators to ensure timely completion
  • • Support with general teaching and administrative tasks at the Konrad Lorenz Institute of Ethology
