ANNOUNCES VACANCY

For the appointment to:

The vacant associate position of senior research and teaching assistant in social sciences, field of sociology, at the Department of Sociology, for a full-time, fixed-term position – 1 employee (m/f). 

Along with a signed application, the applicants need to enclose:

• • a signed CV (maximum 1 page long)
• • a certificate from the Croatian Pension Insurance Institute (HZMO) containing information on the applicant from their database
• • a copy of a certificate proving the level of education required and/or the obtained academic title
• • bibliography and offprints of articles pertinent to the appointment, and a detailed presentation of scientific, teaching, and professional activities
• • a certificate stating that the applicant’s diploma acquired abroad has been approved by the Croatian authorities
• • proof of citizenship; foreign citizens need to enclose a certificate of proficiency in the Croatian language (advanced level)

CV, bibliography, and information on scientific, teaching, and professional activities must be submitted electronically (on a USB flash drive).

Conditions: 

Applicants (m/f) are expected to meet the requirements prescribed by the Science and Higher Education Act (as published in Narodne novine, no. 119/22).

Advantages

• • Experience in collaborating in conducting international comparative survey research.
• • Experience in using secondary data and conducting secondary data analysis in scientific research.
• • Knowledge of databases.
• • Experience in working with various software for conducting survey research and statistical data analysis.
• • Additional education or training (summer schools, courses) in the field of research methodology in social sciences or statistics.
• • Experience in teaching university-level sociology studies.

In applying for the vacancy, the applicants are in outmost accordance with collecting, using and further processing the data for vacancy filling purposes conducted by the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb, as the head of personal data collection and as prescribed by the Personal Data Protection Act (as published in Narodne novine, no. 106/12) and the General EU Directives 2016/679.

The applicants who claim the right of priority in employment based on special regulations must invoke that right in their application and submit the prescribed documentation, which serves as evidence of the advantage they claim. The applicants who claim priority in employment in accordance with special regulations are required, in accordance with those regulations, to submit the prescribed documentation.

The deadline for submitting the application is 30 days, starting from the day the vacancy announcement was last published in “Narodne novine” (“The Official Gazette”).
