Politehnica University Timișoara invites applications for three Postdoctoral Researcher positions within the research project Romanian Center of Excellence in Quantum Technologies with Impact on Cybersecurity (RexQTCS CoEx).

The positions are focused on advanced research at the intersection of automotive cybersecurity, embedded systems security, post-quantum cryptography, and emerging quantum technologies. Successful candidates will join a multidisciplinary research team investigating the security of connected and autonomous vehicle systems and the integration of next-generation cryptographic technologies into automotive platforms.

The appointments are offered for the period August 2026 – December 2030, subject to project funding and institutional regulations.

• • PhD degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
• • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity and applied cryptography.
• • Knowledge of embedded systems and hardware architectures relevant to cybersecurity.
• • Knowledge of communication standards and protocols used in the automotive industry.
• • Knowledge of vehicular control systems and simulation environments.
• • Demonstrated research experience in automotive cybersecurity, evidenced by publications in leading international journals and conferences.
• • Knowledge of the ISO/SAE 21434 standard for automotive cybersecurity engineering.
• • Experience with the AUTOSAR standard and associated automotive software architectures.
• • Demonstrated experience in the development of software solutions for embedded automotive platforms.
• • Advanced proficiency in English, including scientific writing and communication.
• • Knowledge of Romanian at a native level or demonstration of an advanced level (level C1/C2).

• • Ability to conduct independent research in automotive cybersecurity, embedded systems security, and applied cryptography.
• • Experience in the design, implementation, and evaluation of cybersecurity mechanisms for automotive systems is desirable.
• • Previous professional experience in the automotive industry is considered an advantage, particularly in areas related to automotive cybersecurity, embedded systems, or vehicular control systems.
• • Ability to design and conduct experiments, simulations, and validation activities on real-world and simulated automotive platforms.
• • Ability to contribute to scientific publications, technical reports, and project deliverables.
• • Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary research team and contribute to the achievement of project objectives.
• • Strong organizational skills and ability to meet research project deadlines.
