Competition as part of the OPUS project entitled: “Metal-organic frameworks for efficient carbon dioxide capture from water”.

The project aims to develop functional metal-organic framework (MOF) materials and MOF-based composites with controlled particle properties, tailored guest inclusion, and defined structural organization for advanced materials applications. The research will focus on the synthesis of cationic MOFs, the control of particle size and morphology, and the study of MOF-guest interactions, with the overall objective of creating materials with improved performance for aqueous CO2 capture.

As a post-doctoral researcher, you will conduct experimental research on MOFs and their composites. The tasks will include:

• • synthesis and activation of cationic MOFs,
• • control of MOF particle size, morphology, and stability,
• • fabrication of MOF-based composites using melt electrowriting printing,
• • support for PhD students working with 3D extrusion-based and 3D liquid-in-liquid printing,
• • testing of MOFs for dissolved CO2 capture,
• • investigation of MOF-guest interactions,
• • advanced characterization of MOF materials using techniques such as PXRD, Raman and infrared spectroscopy, UV-vis spectroscopy, XPS, SEM, and TEM,
• • environmental impact assessment of MOFs and their composites,
• • preparation of research articles and manuscripts for publication,
• • contributing to the supervision and scientific development of PhD students involved in related projects.
