Associate position of Senior Assistant at the Center for Marine Research in Rovinj, Laboratory for Evolutionary Ecology, for a fixed term of 4 years, 1 employee.


Skills/Qualifications

In addition to the general criteria for employment set out in Article 39, Paragraph 7 of the Act on Higher Education and Scientific Activity, candidates must meet the following criteria:

- academic degree of Doctor of Science (PhD) in the field of Natural Sciences, sub-field of Interdisciplinary Natural Sciences, branch of Marine Science,

- experience in scientific research regarding the genomics and metagenomics of marine planktonic organisms,

- experience in the bioinformatic processing and analysis of molecular data from planktonic organisms,

- experience in the processing and statistical analysis of scientific data,

- Category B driving license,

- active command of English (spoken and written).

Preference will be given to candidates with experience working on national and international scientific research projects, experience with fieldwork on research vessels, experience in environmental DNA (eDNA) analysis, metabarcoding, and/or other molecular ecology methods, experience publishing scientific papers in international journals, and a readiness for teamwork in an interdisciplinary and international environment.
