We are looking for a suitable candidate for the position of Postdoctoral Researcher focusing on the simulation of the Laser Shock Peening process for the Department of Impact and Waves in Solids. Type of contract: temporary for 12 months with an option to extend to 36 months. The planned start date of the job may be subject to change depending on the actual progress of the selection process.


Essential competencies:

  • Programming skills: C++ (OpenFOAM), Python, Bash 
  • Experience in at least one of the following: (i) work with OpenFOAM and (ii) computational solid mechanics
  • Adequate publication results
  • Good knowledge of English to present and publish research results

Desired competencies:

  • Ability to develop knowledge and skills and grow professionally
  • Ability to conduct independent research in the field
  • Knowledge of machine learning (ML) and data mining will be advantageous
  • Knowledge of Czech is welcome but not required
