The position is part of the EU-funded ENDOMIX project (https://endomix.eu ) which aims to study the impact of endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs) at critical life stages on human health. The specific objectives of the position are: 1) to evaluate the associations between early-life exposure to EDCs (PFAS, pesticides, phenols, phthalates, etc. assessed in utero and around puberty) and adolescence health, considering the immune function as potential mediating factor, and 2) to identify potential altered biological pathways using metabolomic data. There are a number of European birth cohorts that participate in the ENDOMIX project. One of these cohorts is the PELAGIE cohort (https://www.pelagie-inserm.fr/), led by Inserm-Irset. Biomarkers of exposure have been measured in cord blood, maternal urine, and adolescent blood.

The immune markers and metabolomic data have been measured in adolescent blood. The effects of both individual chemicals and mixtures will be investigated using state-of-the-art statistical models. Other health determinants, including nutrition, will also be considered as potential modulators of the effects of EDC on human health. The postdoctoral researcher will be in charge of analyzing the data and writing the resulting scientific articles. The postdoctoral researcher will also be involved in another project (EXTREMES) with the aim of studying the effect of exposure to metalloids on the cardiometabolic health of adolescents enrolled in the PELAGIE cohort.
