The Solid State Structures group of the Laboratory of Neutron Scattering and Imaging is specialized in exploiting neutron diffraction to reveal the microscopic atomic and magnetic structures of solid state materials.

As part of a PSI - UK-STFC collaboration, we are looking for a

Postdoctoral fellow for quantum materials research exploiting complementarity between neutrons and photons

Your tasks

• You will define and execute an ambitious independent research programme on quantum materials
• Your research will clearly take advantage of the complementarity between state-of-the-art techniques in neutron and photon science, prioritising use of the large-scale facilities at PSI and the UK
• You will perform additional support measurements such as bulk magnetic or electric characterisation
• You will perform data curation, advanced data analysis and modelling to support the research and interpretation of the data
• You will publish the results of your research in peer-reviewed journals, and present your findings at conferences and workshops
