Position Overview

The Lab Dynamics and nanoenvironment of biological membranes (https://sites.google.com/view/fm4b-lab/home ) is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to join our research team for an exciting project in Biological Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) & Technology Development. This position is for a fixed-term of 1 to 1.5 years, starting on June 1, 2025. The successful candidate will contribute to cutting-edge research at the interface of physics, nanotechnology, and biological sciences.

Research Focus

The postdoctoral researcher will focus on advancing the application of Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) in biological systems. The research will involve:

• Development and optimization of AFM techniques for high-resolution imaging and mechanical characterization of biological samples.
• Integration of AFM with complementary technologies for multimodal biological investigations.
• Investigation of biomolecular interactions and cellular mechanics using advanced AFM methodologies.
• Contributing to the technological enhancement of AFM instrumentation for biological applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct independent and collaborative research in the field of Biological AFM.
• Develop and implement novel AFM techniques tailored for biological systems.
• Design and perform experiments, analyze data, and prepare research findings for publication.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including biophysicists, bioengineers, and computational scientists.
• Present research results at international conferences and contribute to grant proposals.
• Assist in mentoring graduate students and contributing to the academic environment of the research group.
