Rector of the Jagiellonian University announces a selection procedure for the position of an ASSISTANT PROFESSOR

Group of employees: Research staff
Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science
Field of science: Science and Natural sciences, Engineering science
Discipline: Computer science, Mathematics, Technical informatics and telecommunications, Automation, electronics, electrical engineering and space technologies
Scope: Artificial intelligence (Machine learning, Deep learning)

Planned duration employment 12 months. Expected date of employment 2nd quarter 2025



Skills/Qualifications

The selection procedure is open for all individuals, who meet the requirements set out in Articles 113 and 116.2.3) of the Act of 20 July 2018 – Law on Higher Education and Science, and who meet the following eligibility criteria according to § 165 of the Statute of the Jagiellonian University:

  • holding at least a doctoral degree;
  • having relevant scientific achievements;
  • taking active part in scientific life.

Specific Requirements

We are looking for candidates interested in the topics of machine learning and deep learning. Previous experience in Python programming is required. Analytical skills will be an added advantage.

Additional requirements:

  1. Doctoral degree obtained up to 5 years from the date of employment,
  2. Very good knowledge of artificial intelligence, neural networks, deep learning and machine learning
  3.  Proven practical experience in solving problems related to artificial intelligence, neural networks, deep learning (in an academic or research context),
  4. Very good knowledge of Python libraries used for machine learning (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras or similar),
  5. Proficient knowledge of Python language,
  6.  Good knowledge of the English language.
