Postdoctoral researcher (m/f, 1 position) – Fixed-term until June 30, 2027

The Institute of Physics is seeking a postdoctoral researcher for a fixed-term position in experimental atomic physics. This role is part of the EU QT Flagship project QUANTIFY (QUantum enhANced phoTonic Integrated sensors For metrologY), focusing on the development and testing of a miniaturized optical memory based on a MEMS vapor cell and a PIC laser.

The successful candidate will join the Quantum Technologies Group at the CALT Department, working under the mentorship of Dr. Ticijana Ban (ticijana@ifs.hr).

Requirements
- Ph.D. in physics, specializing in atomic and molecular physics (mandatory).
- Hands-on experience with experimental atomic physics, including laser-based techniques and atomic
spectroscopy.
- Strong motivation for laboratory-based research in quantum sensors.
- Fluency in English (spoken and written).

Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated research excellence and independence, evidenced by publications, awards, scholarships, or
conference presentations.
- Practical experience with frequency-stabilized continuous-wave lasers and experimental system
development.
