I. Department description

Research conducted at the Department of Ribonucleoprotein Biochemistry focuses on the role of RNA and DNA in regulating the activity of nucleic acid-binding proteins and exploring the mechanisms beyond the activity and specific functions of these proteins. The main object of the research is Dicer-type ribonucleases. In particular, current studies focus on: (i) the cellular interactome of human ribonuclease Dicer, (ii) ATP hydrolysis activity of vertebrate Dicers, (iii) signaling pathways involving Dicer proteins, (iv) evolution of Dicer domains. Candidates are expected to actively participate in the department’s scientific projects. The research should be conducted at a high scientific level, using modern laboratory techniques and bioinformatic approaches. It is expected that the research results will be published in renowned international scientific journals.
