Job Duties:

• Research and publication activities in the context of the main research areas of the Pohl working group
• Participation in national and international research projects of the working group
• Participation in the teaching of the Institute of Biophysics (holding of practical courses)

Your Qualifications:

• The successful candidate must hold a completed doctorate in biophysics (or related subject with a biophysical topic), two years after the doctorate, whereby periods of maternity leave and maternity protection as well as periods spent caring for close relatives have the effect of extending the period
• Publication activity in the field of membrane transport
• Experience in the application of light microscopy techniques and photopharmacological approaches to manipulate membrane transport processes
• Work experience in the field of electrophysiology to record membrane transport events and interfacial phenomena on planar model membranes
• Experience in the reconstitution of membrane proteins into lipid vesicles and free-standing planar lipid bilayers
• The successful candidate will have a willingness to work hard, a sense of responsibility, communication and critical thinking skills, team spirit, and the ability to perform under pressure
• Very good spoken and written technical English, General English level B2; German language skills not required
