The research group led by Prof. Dr. Golo Storch at Department 09 – Chemistry, Pharmacy, geography and Earth Sciences – at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz focuses on innovative concepts in organic chemistry and photochemistry. Our work combines precise molecular synthesis with functional, light-controlled systems and places particular emphasis on sustainable and forward-looking reaction pathways.

To strengthen our team, we are looking for an Academic Councilor to start on 01.10.2025. The advertised position offers an attractive combination of scientific research, independent teaching and active participation in the supervision of students and theses. The position is embedded in a dynamic and internationally oriented research environment with excellent technical equipment.

Your tasks:

• Initiation and coordination of research projects and collaborations in the field of design, development, and characterization of photochemically active compounds
• Development and implementation of independent projects as well as scientific supervision of a research subgroup
• Project and staff management, coordination, and scientific supervision of joint project applications
• Maintenance of the group's scientific equipment and methodological development of new characterization methods
• Planning and implementation of selected theoretical and practical organic chemistry courses for the chemistry and biomedical chemistry degree programs
