Constanța Maritime University is launching the recruitment competition for two (2) temporary positions of Postdoctoral Researcher within the PNRR project MAREHC – “Maximizing the Renewable Energy Hosting Capacity of Distribution Networks”.

Project Background

The PNRR MAREHC project aims to strengthen the innovation capacity of the Romanian RDI system by attracting highly qualified human resources from abroad, around whom excellence research groups will be established and developed.

General Objective:

The overall goal of the project “Maximizing the Renewable Energy Hosting Capacity of Distribution Networks” is to support the national research and development system by attracting highly skilled researchers from abroad, fostering the creation and development of excellence research groups in cutting-edge scientific fields, in line with the objectives of the National Strategy for Research, Innovation and Smart Specialization.

Specific Objectives:

• To advance and promote fundamental scientific research in Romania;
• To develop human resources and create excellence research groups;
• To increase the institutional capacity to absorb European funds;
• To stimulate international institutional partnerships;
• To increase the number of internationally visible publications and patents;
• To strengthen and develop competitive research teams at the international level;
• To actively involve PhD students and postdoctoral researchers in building research careers of excellence in Romania;
• To stimulate the participation of researchers in Horizon Europe competitions.

Expected Results:

• Assessment of energy consumption profiles for energy management;
• Conceptual models and topologies for energy storage systems;
• Development of a storage device management system;
• Stochastic optimization algorithms;
• Game theory–based optimal trading strategies;
• Procedures and reports on testing trading models in the energy market.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensure hierarchical reporting and proper coordination for the smooth implementation of the project;
• Carry out research tasks according to the project work plan;
• Maintain effective communication of technical and financial issues within the project team;
• Ensure timely completion of research activities;
• Participate in both theoretical and experimental research activities;
• Contribute to the drafting and dissemination of scientific articles and conference papers;
• Supervise PhD students in research and high-impact publications;
• Ensure that all publications and project results acknowledge the funding source and contract number;
• Comply with the provisions of Law no. 206/2004 on good conduct in research, development and innovation, and with all other applicable ethics regulations;
• Maintain professional confidentiality regarding project-related activities;
• Draft and submit scientific articles, including in high-impact international journals (Q1/Q2).

Note: The number of scientific articles (including those targeted for Q1/Q2 journals) undertaken by the candidate for the contractual period will represent a ranking criterion during the selection process.

Working Conditions / Place of Work

• The position does not involve hazardous or unusual environmental conditions;
• Work will be carried out at Constanța Maritime University or at other locations required by the project.
