The Ecole Normale Supérieure (ENS Paris) invites applications for aJunior Research Laplace chair in data science at the postdoctorallevel, funded by CFM (Capital Fund Management) and the ENS. The chairis named after Pierre-Simon, marquis de Laplace, who between manyaccomplishments, was one of the early founders of statisticalinference and data science. The selected candidate will be located at the new vibrant

The Laplace chair aims at recruiting outstanding candidates in allareas of data sciences including theoretical statistics, machinelearning, deep learning, optimization, signal processing, computerscience, applied mathematics and statistical physics, or working onapplications to other sciences such as physics, biology, medicine,social sciences or economics.Appointments will be for two years with a possible extension for athird year. Salary is competitive and the positions are endowed withtravel resources.
