Context
The University of Montpellier is recruiting a postdoctoral researcher as part of the TOMALT project, funded by France Agrimer under the CASDAR “Connaissances” call. The project aims to develop biocontrol solutions against tomato early blight caused by Alternaria spp., pathogenic fungi that produce mycotoxins posing a risk to consumer health in tomatoes and tomato-based products (purées, coulis, sauces, ketchup, etc.).

Main Mission
Isolate biocontrol agents from tomato-associated ecosystems and evaluate their effectiveness against Alternaria mycotoxin-producing strains:

• In vitro on culture media
• In vivo on stored and processed tomatoes (in collaboration with CTCPA, project partner)
• In field trials on tomato plants of different varieties and production areas under good experimental practices (in collaboration with Sonito, project partner).

Activities
Conduct research aligned with the mission, covering the scientific fields listed below.

Job Constraints
The position requires close collaboration with several project partners (Qualisud, CTCPA, and Sonito) and work across multiple sites: UMR Qualisud (University of Montpellier and CIRAD) laboratories as well as field locations.
