Applications are open for one Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship, within the framework of project “SuperOpTyMe – Radiolabeled opine-type metallophores as new targeted PET imaging probes for selective detection of Superbugs infection” / C2TN – Centro de Ciências e Tecnologias Nucleares, (1801P.01553.1.01) 16681-LISBOA2030-FEDER-00786200 - IST-ID, financed by national funds through FCT and co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (FEDER) through COMPETE – “Programa Operacional Fatores de Competitividade

Workplan: The work will primarily focus on the total synthesis and characterization of new analogs of metallophores inspired by staphylopine, as well as on the synthesis of staphylopine itself. Several synthetic techniques and procedures will be employed and optimized with the goal of developing synthesis protocols that yield reaction efficiencies compatible with the potential use of one or more of these compounds in clinical applications. The synthesized products will be characterized using standard techniques such as ¹H/¹³C NMR, HPLC-UV, ESI-MS, FTIR, etc.

In addition to laboratory experimental work, the fellow will also be responsible for compiling the obtained results and presenting them periodically to other project members, as well as for contributing to the writing of scientific publications related to the developed work.

Duration: The research fellowship(s) will have the duration of 18 months. It’s expected to begin in November/2025, and may be eventually renewed up to the maximum of 24 months, including the duration of the initial contract.

It is mandatory to formalize applications with the submission of the following documents: i) B1 Form – Fellowship application (https://ist-id.pt/concursos/bolsas/); ii) Curriculum Vitae; iii) academic degree certificate; iv) motivation letter; v) declaration on honour that the applicant does not exceed with this contract an accumulated period of three years in this type of fellowship, continuously or with interruptions, within the technological and scientific system, and that the research work that led to the PhD degree was carried out in a different entity from the host institution of the fellowship.
