Requirements for candidates:
a)Experience in any of the research areas at UIC (https://www.uic.es/ca/recerca/recerca/grups-de-recerca)
b)Hold a doctoral degree. For candidates applying under the general access category, the doctoral degree must have been obtained between January 1, 2015, and December 31, 2023.
c)Not have been a recipient of a Ramón y Cajal grant in previous calls.
d)Not be a recipient of any Juan de la Cierva grants in any of their modalities.
e) Submit no more than one application in the current Ramón y Cajal 2025 call.

Ramón y Cajal offers:
The amount of funding for the recruitment of research personnel is as specified in the corresponding call. This amount covers the cost of each contract for the 5 years of the grant, including the remuneration to be received by the researcher and the employer’s contribution to Social Security. The grants awarded will be subject to the tax regulations in force at the time of granting. The contracted researcher must receive the minimum gross salary established in the corresponding call.

Additionally, the grant includes a complementary amount specified in the call. This funding is exclusively intended for actions carried out by the candidate during the contract period covered by the grant and must be managed by the beneficiary entity itself.

How to apply
The application for the Ramón y Cajal (RYC) grant involves two processes: an internal pre-selection phase for securing institutional support, and the official application which is mandatory for all candidates.

1. Expression of Interest to UIC Barcelona (Internal Pre-Selection)
UIC Barcelona encourages researchers interested in applying for the RYC 2025 grant and wishing to have UIC Barcelona as their host institution to submit their candidacy for institutional support.
Interested applicants must send the following information to vrecerca@uic.es including the subject line: RAMÓN Y CAJAL CALL 2025.

The research group will create a committee for the selection of the candidates that will be supported by UIC Barcelona for the RYC 2025 call.

2. Official Application Process (Mandatory & Simultaneous)
Candidates must proceed with the official submission, which is carried out independently by the candidates and the R&D Centers through electronic applications.
• The official deadline for the Ministry application is mandatory
• Applications will be available from November 19, 2025, to December 11, 2025, at 14:00 hours (Peninsular time).

Meeting the UIC Barcelona's internal deadline is necessary to secure institutional support, but the mandatory step for eligibility is submitting the official application to the Ministry's platform (November 19 to December 11, 2025).
