Skills/Qualifications

• • Participation in the aforementioned project. Participation in defining working hypotheses and experimental design, and in executing the project.
• • Handling and dissection of human tissue and blood samples (extraction of different cell types). Cell cultures (established lines and primary cultures of cornea and others).
• • Preparation of histological samples. Immunohistochemical and immunocytochemical techniques. Conventional and fluorescence microscopy.
• • Molecular biology techniques: extraction of proteins, lipids and nucleic acids, RT-qPCR, Western Blot, immunoassay techniques (ELISA, Luminex, protein immunoarrays).
• • Functional cell experiments.
• • Hydrogel preparation. 3D bioprinting.
• • Ex vivo and in vivo assays.
• • Statistical analysis.
• • Writing scientific reports and publications.
• • Data analysis, statistical analysis and presentation of results.
• • Collaboration in the supervision of technicians and trainee staff.
• • Support in maintenance tasks to ensure the smooth running of the laboratory.

Specific Requirements

• • Bachelor's degree or higher qualification related to the project (Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology) or similar.
• • Master's degree in Biomedicine, Biomedical Research, Biomedical Engineering, Tissue Engineering, Advanced Therapies or similar.
• • Doctorate in Biomedical Research.
• • Five years of demonstrable experience in handling human clinical samples and primary corneal cultures.
