The University of Bucharest announces a competition for one position of Scientific Researcher, Grade III, COR code 263305, within the project “A Virtue Account of Modal Epistemology and Its Applications”, hosted by the Research Institute of the University of Bucharest (ICUB).

Skills/Qualifications

- PhD in Philosophy.

- At least three articles published in WOS-indexed journals as sole or main author, on topics in applied ethics or the application of conceptual tools from theoretical philosophy in the fields of ethics or political philosophy.

- Participation in at least three international conferences.

Specific Requirements

- Submission of at least two articles as main author to WOS/SCOPUS journals.

- Participation in drafting articles coordinated by team members.

- Participation in at least two international conferences.

- Participation in organizing three local workshops/conferences (2026–2027) and one international conference (2027).

- Participation in weekly work meetings.

- Contribution to:

a) correlating the results of philosophical analysis of modalities and epistemic virtues with findings from modal psychology;

b) developing the concept of modal expertise, based on existing results regarding moral expertise;

c) investigating the epistemology of thought experiments useful in normative and applied ethics.
