We are seeking a highly motivated and talented candidate for a Researcher position in the Nanobiotechnology Group at IMDEA Nanociencia. The selected candidate will join our dynamic team working on the design, synthesis, and characterization of functional nanoparticles and nucleic acid-based systems for nanomedicine applications.

This position offers the opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research at the intersection of organic synthesis, nucleic acid chemistry, and nanotechnology, with direct applications in biomedical innovation.

Main functions

• • Synthesis and optimization of complex organic molecules and nanoparticle systems
• • Design and synthesis of DNA and RNA on solid phase platforms
• • Development and synthesis of linkers and functional connectors for nanoparticle modification
• • Functionalization and chemical coating of nanoparticles for biomedical applications
• • Preparation, modification, and surface engineering of nanoparticles
• • Characterization and evaluation of modified nanoparticles using analytical and biophysical techniques
• • Cell culture-based assays for biocompatibility and functional assessment
• • Contribution to peer-reviewed publications, patents, and presentations at international conferences
• • Collaboration with multidisciplinary research teams

Requirements

• • PhD in Chemistry, Pharmacy, or closely related fields
• • Demonstrated experience in the synthesis of complex organic molecules and their characterization
• • Proven expertise in solid-phase nucleic acid synthesis (DNA/RNA)
• • Hands-on laboratory experience in cell culture techniques
• • Experience in preparation and chemical modification of nanoparticles
• • Proficiency in analytical chemistry and characterization techniques (HPLC, mass spectrometry, NMR, etc.)
• • Trained in laboratory quality systems
• • Fluent written and spoken communication skills in English and Spanish
• • Strong teamwork capabilities, flexibility, and ability to manage multiple tasks
